President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Addu City Council where the councilors held extensive discussions on their concerns and future plans to further develop Addu City.
At the meeting held in Aarah yesterday evening, councilors noted that despite being constitutionally empowered, they still face many obstacles in implementing their mandate, especially in providing municipal services to its residents. In this context, they shed light on hurdles in addressing concerns such as housing, tourism, healthcare service development, and urban development needs.
At the meeting, Ministers provided government policy details on project execution as well as the most recent detailed information on ongoing projects identified by councilors.
The President stated that he will communicate with the line Ministries and State Owned Enterprises in order to find appropriate solutions to the councilors' concerns. Parliament members representing Addu Constituency and Cabinet members attended the meeting.
