President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has returned to Malé City, late this morning, upon concluding his visit to Kandoodhoo Island of Kolhumadulu Atoll.

During the trip, President Solih participated in several activities held in commemoration of National Farmers' Day and World Food Day. The President officially inaugurated the food security programme, fertigation system and food exhibition and joined the official reception celebrating National Farmers' Day and World Food Day this year.

October 15 is celebrated as National Farmers’ Day while October 16 is celebrated internationally as World Food Day. The primary goal of annually commemorating National Farmer's Day is to recognise farmers' efforts and contributions to ensuring food security. The day further aims to promote the farming vocation while also connecting the day to World Food Day, allowing farmers to showcase their products and plan events in conjunction with the days.
