First Lady Fazna Ahmed has visited the school of Alifushi Island in North Maalhosmadulu Atoll and met the students and members of the faculty.

The First Lady gifted two books to the school library on preventing bullying and sexual violence awareness. She read the book on bullying to some students, advising them how to attend to cases of bullying. She met several students studying for GCSE O-level and foundation studies separately, speaking with them about their studies and advising them on stress management as they prepare for their examinations.

Meeting the faculty, First Lady Fazna spoke about the role of educators in curbing negative social impacts and raising awareness among students. The representatives extended their gratitude to the First Lady for the government's high priority towards improving the education sector.

Before the meeting, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the First Lady toured the development site of the school's new multi-purpose hall. The project commenced on May 11, 2021, and is scheduled to conclude by April 1, 2022. There are currently 450 students in rolled in the school between grades ten and foundation studies.

Alifushi Island is the sixth destination of the President and First Lady’s ongoing three-day trip North Miladhunmadulu Atoll and North Maalhosmadulu Atoll. Cabinet ministers, senior executives from the President’s Office and a delegation of high-level government officials accompany the President and First Lady on this trip.
