President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent a message of condolence to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai, following the passing of his brother, His Highness Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Minister of Finance of UAE and Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“Your Highness,
I am deeply saddened by the passing of your esteemed brother, His Highness Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates and the Deputy Ruler of Dubai. He will be remembered as a wise and accomplished statesman who contributed greatly to Dubai’s success. His loss will be felt throughout the United Arab Emirates, the Middle Eastern region and the world.
On behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, I extend my condolences to the Government and the people of Dubai, and in particular to Your Highness’s family during this time of grief. May Allah Almighty grant your beloved brother, His Highness Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, entrance to the highest ranks of Jannat Al Firdaus.”
