President Mohamed Nasheed has said that he appreciates the clean up efforts by Male’ Municipality at Male’ garbage disposal area after the fire that burned down the area. The President noted this in a telephone conversation with the President of Male’ Municipality Mr Adam Manik today.
After the fire that burned down the auction area and the garbage disposal area has been controlled, the smell of the fumes from ashes left behind has affected the people living in the area. Speaking with the President of Male’ Municipality, President Nasheed noted the steps taken by the Municipality to resolve the problems caused by the fumes.
Mr Adam Manik emphasized the assistance provided by the Maldives National Defence Force to clean up the area.
