Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with senior officials from the Cancer Society of Maldives and other relevant authorities regarding the challenges faced by oncology patients, and how to improve the healthcare offered to them.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office this afternoon, Vice President Faisal Naseem commended the Cancer Society of Maldives for their diligence in raising awareness regarding cancer. He further praised their continuous efforts to provide support and help to oncology patients.

Representatives from the Cancer Society of Maldives shared the most pressing issues and challenges faced in providing services to oncology patients. They also briefed the Vice President on their ongoing activities and programmes, as well as future activities in the pipeline.

Speaking during the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem highlighted the value of expediting medical services and treatment for oncology patients. He advocated for all organisations to work collaboratively towards easing all issues faced by the patients.

The meeting was joined by senior officials from hospitals in the Greater Malé area; senior officials from other relevant authorities; Special Advisor on Social Policy from the President’s Office, Dr Mustafa Luthfee; and Minister at the President’s Office, Ahmed Sameer.
