Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with stakeholder agencies on improving municipal waste management in Malé City. The meeting was held at the President’s Office this morning.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice President highlighted the importance of enhancing the waste collection and disposal services offered by Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO). The stakeholders presented plans to continue uninterrupted services while improving waste collection, and briefed the Vice President on the progress of the joint efforts underway by the authorities in alleviating the waste management situation in Malé City.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Environment, Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan, along with senior officials from the ministry. Minister at the President’s Office, Ahmed Naseem, and senior officials from Malé City Council and WAMCO also attended the meeting.
