Earlier Cabinet discussions held on 25th August 2020 highlighted that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic poses several challenges to the Government's ability to implement and adhere to the original schedule of its Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for 2019-2023. In light of this, the Policy Section at the President's Office recently proposed a revised priority list and schedule for the SAP, which will allow the Government to deliver on its key pledges to citizens, within a realistic time frame, that factors in the challenges of the pandemic.
This revised list was discussed at the cabinet meeting held today at the President's Office. Cabinet Ministers deliberated on the projects and activities listed to determine priorities in each sector. The Ministers collectively expressed that their respective ministries would give their full support to the Administration in fulfilling these priorities, despite the difficulties of Covid-19.
