Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services, Aishath Mohamed Didi, senior officials and representatives of institutes administered under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services and members from other relevant authorities regarding the ongoing procedures to provide assistance to individuals who are in need due to COVID-19.

During the online discussion held today, the Vice President clarified the latest information regarding the procedure in place to provide assistance and highlighted ensuring social protection. The Vice President also stressed that importance of services provided to residents under Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services’s responsibility at; Fiyavathi, Kudakudhinge Hiya, and Home for People with Special Needs in Guraidhoo Island. He also clarified the planned procedure of providing services to the resident’s living at institutes under National Drug Agency during this pandemic.

The Vice President further discussed the process of providing medication to persons suffering specific illnesses and how to help individuals, who came to Male’ for short-term and got stuck during lockdown, to return to their homes.

During the meeting, the participants detailed their ongoing tasks to the Vice President. Vice President Faisal Naseem praised and acknowledged the effort of all institutions working together in providing services to the public. He also urged the representatives at institutions administered under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services to provide care services at its best.
