The President met with his Cabinet of Ministers at Mulee’aage this afternoon to discuss response and recovery measures implemented by the Government with regard to the global pandemic, Covid-19. Discussions centred on interventions in place to contain the spread of the virus in the Maldives. The Cabinet also discussed the socio - economic impacts of the global pandemic on the Maldives and the steps taken by the Government in order to build Maldives’ resilience and minimize projected losses.
Further, they acknowledged the effectiveness of the ongoing multi-agency efforts to contain the virus, under the overall supervision of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). They also expressed gratitude to the healthcare professionals, volunteers and essential workers for their crucial contributions towards managing this ongoing crisis.
