President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the Councillors of Himmafushi Island Council. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Discussions at the meeting were focused on the developmental plans of the island and concerns of its residents. In this regard, the Councillors shared details of difficulties faced by the constituents due to delays in the sewerage network project, the state of the island’s freshwater lens, and challenges to proper waste management. The Councillors also highlighted space constraints in the school, need for improved healthcare, renovation of the harbour and need for increased economic activities.

Speaking with the Councillors, President Solih shared the latest updates of the developmental plans for the island. He further affirmed that the Administration would work with line ministries to address the concerns raised by the Councillors.
