President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with representatives of the Taxi Drivers Association. The meeting was held at the President's office this afternoon.
Representatives from the association shared collective views on matters regarding taxi operations and discussed avenues of resolving pertinent issues. Some key issues noted by the drivers include financial challenges to acquiring new vehicles as per taxi regulations which prohibit the use of vehicles 20 years after its date of manufacture. Representatives from the Taxi Drivers Association also discussed avenues of overcoming the challenges in improving the quality of service to the public.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih affirmed that the Administration would work with the relevant stakeholders to address the concerns raised by the association. He further urged taxi drivers to provide exceptional services to the public.
