Vice President Faisal Naseem has returned to Malé after concluding a visit to some islands of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

His first stop of the two-day tour was Molhadhoo Island in Haa Alifu Atoll, where he officially inaugurated the harbour development project of the island. Whilst there, the Vice President also opened the futsal grounds and attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a project to develop a children’s park.

In Dhidhdhoo Island of Haa Alifu Atoll, the Vice President sat down with the Haa Alifu Atoll Council and discussed developmental plans and pertinent issues. He also met Dhidhdhoo Island Council and held discussions over the issues faced in the island and spent some time with people with special needs.

Last night, the Vice President officiated the ‘Thila Uthuru Uhthama Aruthaveringe Awards’ ceremony organised by Haa Alifu Atoll Council. Addressing the ceremony, the Vice President spoke extensively about the benefits of the Administration’s proposed amendments to the Decentralisation Act.

The tour took the Vice President to Kulhudhuffushi Island in Haa Dhaalu Atoll this morning, where his first stop was a meeting with Kulhudhuffushi Island Council. Next, he visited Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital to open the ‘Hithaanee Camp,’ and met with the management and staff of the hospital.

He also made a stop at the Family and Children Service Centre and inquired about its services. The Vice President concluded his visit and returned to Malé this afternoon.
