President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has participated in the 9th Dhivehi Film Awards ceremony. The ceremony was held tonight at Olympus Cinema.
The awards are held to recognise excellence in cinematic achievements. It is the first to be held since the constitution of the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage. At the ceremony, President Solih presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mohamed Rasheed.
This year, 12 feature films and one short film were nominated for the awards, presented to productions released from 2017-2018.
