Vice President Faisal Naseem meets the 100th patient to undergo total knee replacement surgery at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) under the Aasandha scheme.
At the visit to IGMH today, The Vice President witnessed the successful total knee replacement surgery performed by local surgeons, Dr. Hussain Faisal and Dr. Ismail Zahir.
Vice President Faisal Naseem visited the patient, enquired about his wellbeing and wished him a speedy recovery. During the visit, the Vice President also met with the medical team from IGMH which performed the surgery and congratulated them on the success of the surgery.
Total knee surgery is carried out free of charge under the government’s universal healthcare insurance scheme, Aasandha and is currently offered at IGMH, Medica hospital and Treetop Hospital.
