Vice President Faisal Naseem has visited and joined the Diamond Jubilee Parade of Aminiya School held to celebrate their 75th anniversary. The parade was held in Hulhumalé this evening.
Upon arrival at Rehendhi School, the Vice President was welcome by Dr Aishath Ali, Minister of Education, and officials of the Ministry and the school. The parade commenced in Rehendhi School and concluded at the Central Park.
The Vice President also marched alongside the parade, consisting of alumni, students, teachers and other management staff; over 2000 participated in the parade. Speaking at the event, Vice President Faisal Naseem stressed on the administration’s policy of strengthening the education system, to ensure a brighter future for students and create the next generation of responsible citizens.
Citing that the message delivered through Aminiya School’s anniversary celebrations was one of solidarity and unity, he called upon the society to teach the children to be virtuous, considerate, and respectful. He further spoke about the need to lead by example in promoting equality, peace, justice, and stability while discouraging all forms of discrimination and division within the society.
The event was a part of the series of events organised by the school to mark its 75th anniversary. The event, held to strengthen the bond between past and present students and the management of the school, concluded with entertainment items presented by the students.
