President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially unveiled the logo of the ‘2020 Milan Maldives Sixes’ cricket tournament organised by Milan Cricket Academy (MCA)—the competition will be held next year. The logo of the tournament was unveiled at the Milan Cricket Awards Night 2019 held at Dharubaaruge tonight.
During the function, President Solih also presented awards to the top three cricketers of 2018. The top three school cricket players, top three female cricketers, and top three most promising under-21 cricket players were also presented with awards at the function, in addition to celebrating those who had provided exceptional services to the sport.
Milan Cricket Academy, a non-governmental organisation devoted to the promotion and progress of cricket nationwide, was established in 2009. The Milan Cricket Awards Night 2019 was held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the organisation. MCA has been instrumental in training the next generation of Maldivian cricketers.
