President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the members of Dhigurah Island Council of South Ari Atoll this afternoon at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, Councillors shared the priorities and concerns raised by the island’s residents, as well as various development projects proposed for the benefit of their constituents.The Councillors shed light on the most pertinent and urgent needs of their residents, including the need for allocation of new housing plots, harbour expansion, establishing water and sanitation services, an urgent solution to beach erosion and issues with the waste management system. The Councillors also highlighted the need to further develop the health sector and education sector in the island, and provision of sports and recreational facilities for the youth.

Speaking at the meeting, the President shared updates and timelines of projects marked within the scope of the government budget. The President also affirmed that the government would take necessary action after discussing with relevant line ministries to address the specific issues and concerns raised by members of the Dhigurah Island Council.
