First Lady Fazna Ahmed has called on all mothers to exercise environmentally-friendly methods and practices while upbringing and educating their children. She said this while speaking at the inauguration of "MOMS Expo 2019"—an exhibition targeting women entrepreneurs. The two-day exhibition, organised by local non-profit organisation MOMS, is held at Billabong International School.

Speaking at the function, the First Lady highlighted that everyone can play a role in the effort to protect the environment, and all mothers should set examples for their children by exercising means to prevent wastage. Noting the important role MOMS plays in caring and assisting mothers, expectant mothers and ladies planning motherhood—especially women who had become victim to domestic abuse—the First Lady emphasised about the importance of empowering women.

The First Lady also inaugurated the "Family to Family Fund," at the function. MOMS Expo is the largest women and mother entrepreneurs' exhibition held in the Maldives. It allows women entrepreneurs to showcase their business, connect with the public and seeks to empower women entrepreneurs.
