Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with some companies involved in the supply of fuel. The meeting was held at the President’s Office this morning.
The Vice President met with representatives from fuel supplying companies from Malé region and inquired about the process of fuel storage, delivery and the daily operations of the companies in delivering and refuelling sea vessels docked at ports in Malé region.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem noted the importance of abiding by safety precautions and instructed the companies to standardize their operations to meet with the specified safety guidelines.
At the meeting attended by senior officials from State Trading Organisation (STO), Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) and Ports Authority, suppliers noted the role they could play in standardizing their operations.
At the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem emphasized on the government’s plan to phase out industrial activities from residential areas, which include alternate arrangements made for fuel storage as well as refuelling. The Vice President also said that the government would incorporate some a monitoring mechanism to ensure the standardization of the service.
