President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Mr Mohamed Shathir of Thiringali, Th Hirilandhoo, as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology.
Mr Mohamed Shathir most recently served as the Director-General of the National Archive and has also previously served as Senior Editor of Voice of Maldives and other similarly prominent positions. In addition to this, Mr Shathir is a dedicated and prominent persona in the editorial vocation and historical research and serves as a consultant for numerous organizations in similar capacities.
Mr Mohamed Shathir is the recipient of the 2017 National Award of Recognition for his contributions to raising countrywide awareness on Maldives history and has completed various programs and courses in the academic and editorial professions.
