Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with and held discussions pertinent to traffic issues in Malé City with several senior officials representing a range of stake-holding institutions this morning at the President’s Office. The officials present at the meeting included senior representatives from Malé City Council, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and Maldives Police Service.
The Vice President stressed the importance of easing of traffic congestion and other issues such as resolving parking issues and freeing up space for both traffic and pedestrians in Malé City. The officials highlighted the measures presently being undertaken to enhance road safety and reiterated the major obstacles they continue to face while fulfilling this important responsibility to the Maldivian public.
The Vice President also mentioned the positive outcome of previously conducted Traffic and Road Safety Awareness Programmes and pressed the importance of the continuity of those programmes.
