President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today met with members of the Felidhoo Island Council of Felidhe Atoll and enquired about the needs and concerns of the people, ongoing developmental plans and future development plans of the island. The meeting was held at the President’s Office this afternoon.
During the meeting, Councillors relayed details of several concerns and pressing issues for its residents, such as beach erosion, improvement needed for the health sector, issues of sanitation, waste management, and infrastructural requirements for sports and recreational facilities within the island.
Speaking at the meeting, the President shared updates and timelines of projects marked within the scope of the 2019 government budget. He further stated that the harbour project and powerhouse relocation project will commence this year. The president also stressed that the Councillors concerns will be shared with the relevant line ministries to find appropriate solutions.
