President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today met the members of the Milandhunmadulu Dhekunuburi Council. The meeting took place this afternoon at Kudafaree School, in Kudafaree Island.
The Councillors shared several pertinent issues and concerns with the President, as well as ideas for further development of the atoll. Some of these include difficulty obtaining information regarding the uninhabited islands in the atoll and the parties who have leased or been granted islands for different development projects. The Councillors also shared concerns regarding updates on some of the comprehensive infrastructural and developmental projects ongoing in different islands of the atoll.
The President noted the concerns and assured the Councillors that the requested information will be made available at the earliest juncture through the relevant line ministries. He also discussed development plans for the future welfare of the islands and helped the Councillors fully understand the opportunities that will be available through the proposed amendments to the Decentralization Act.
