President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the most valuable investment that we can make for national growth and progress is to provide enriched and enhanced learning opportunities for our children. The President said this while making remarks at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations Ceremony of Hidaya School held this morning at Noonu Miladhoo.
In his remarks, the President stated that every success story in any field always begins with education, as it is a crucial component in creating a multifaceted workforce of skilled individuals in a variety of specialities. He emphasized that it is a vital component of his administration’s mandate to provide students with access to modern and top-quality learning opportunities without their parents having to incur a large debt, and reaffirmed his pledge to provide this for all students across the country.
Speaking further, the President declared that today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders and that the future of the Maldives will soon rest in the hands of these students. He underlined the fundamental importance of cultivating young minds to become innovative problem solvers in the pursuit of national development and progress.
Continuing his remarks, the President reiterated that the most important goal of his administration is to nurture a generation of healthy, happy, hardworking and self-sufficient young adults and that this goal can only be achieved by continuously refining and upgrading the educational system and learning opportunities provided to them.
The President also noted that Miladhoo has been an island that has historically given great precedence to education and learning and that the residents of the island have always embodied the concept of progress through individual effort. He appealed to all educators and parents to consider it their patriotic duty to provide any assistance they can to facilitate the learning process of their students and children and to foster a lively generation of cultured and intellectual individuals.
