The Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ranil Wickramasinghe has arrived in the Maldives today on an Official Visit.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by his spouse, Professor Maithree Wickremasinghe, and visiting delegation arrived at Velana International Airport and was received by His Excellency, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid.
Whilst here the Prime Minister will hold bilateral discussions with His Excellency, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on strengthening relations between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, which will be further progressed by several cooperation agreements scheduled to be signed between the two Governments today.
Whilst in the Maldives, Prime Minister Wickramasinghe will also be chairing the 4th Indian Ocean Conference (IOC), scheduled to be held tomorrow.
