President Nasheed has today appointed Mr Mohamed Zaki as the High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia at a ceremony held this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Following the presentation of the Letter of Appointment to Mr Zaki, the President called on him to represent the government of Maldives in Malaysia in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Maldives as well as the sentiments of the people. He also noted that there were a growing population of Maldivian community residing in Malaysia now.
