The Ambassador of Singapore to the Maldives, His Excellency, Mr. Chua Thian Poh, has made his farewell call upon His Excellency Vice President Faisal Naseem, this morning at the President’s Office.
The Vice-President thanked the Ambassador for the many services he has rendered to the Maldives during his four-year ambassadorial tenure.
The Vice President and Ambassador highlighted the several spheres in which the Maldives and Singapore presently cooperate: in tourism, education and trade, among a multitude of other bilateral and multilateral engagements.
The Vice President highlighted that Singapore has been a longstanding development partner to the Maldives, helping our country make several socio-economic strides, noting that the Ambassador has done much work towards strengthening that partnership. He expressed his confidence that the Ambassador’s successor will effectively carry forward that work.
The Ambassador expressed that it has been his pleasure to serve the Singaporean government as their chosen representative to the Maldives. The Vice President wished the Ambassador well in all of his future endeavors.
