Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with Members of the South Nilandhoo Atoll Council. The meeting took place today, at the President's Office.

The Councillors updated the Vice President on the substantive matters confronted by constituents Dhaalu Atoll. Of these, the most urgent matters noted by the Councillors were the difficulties in obtaining fresh water, establishing sewerage systems and developments required in the Health Sector.

The Council also discussed specific issues in islands as well as sectors where upgrades and developmental programs are required urgently. Some of these include the Meedhoo Harbour Project and allocation of the recently reclaimed land, abandoned homes in Rinbudhoo, and noted challenges with the Harbour at Hulhudheli. Another important concern raised by the Councillors was the urgent requirement for a multi-purpose building and further reclamation required due to land-scarcity in Maaenboodhoo. The Councillors also indicated further interest and expressed some concerns regarding additional developing local tourism in Dhaalu Atoll.

The Vice President listened to the concerns raised and assured the Councillors that the issues will be forwarded to the relevant line ministries and organizations to find the best possible solutions.
