Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with council members from South Ari Atoll Fenfushi Councillors and discussed the island’s ongoing development projects and overall socio-economic progress.

During the meeting held this afternoon at the President’s Office, the Councillors shared with the Vice President details of the island’s main ongoing development projects and the main impediments to further progress. Accordingly, the Councillors relayed that they are currently preoccupied with expediting the development of the island’s sewerage systems; allocating plots of land on which to build guesthouses; implementing water and harbour projects; as well as building sports and recreations facilities such as football fields, among other planned and proposed development projects. The councillors also shared the scale and nature of assistance they would need from the government to bring all their goals to fruition.
The Vice President was appreciative of all of their concerns and relayed his sincere desire that they are resolved forthwith. He further reiterated that he would work with the relevant stakeholders and line ministries to address the several important issues discussed.
