Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with and held discussions pertinent to road safety with several senior officials representing a range of stake-holding institutions, this morning at the President’s Office. The officials present in the meeting included senior representatives from Male’ City Council, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and Maldives Police Service.
The officials briefed the Vice President on the measures they are presently undertaking to enhance road safety and reiterated the major obstacles they continue to confront while fulfilling this important responsibility to the Maldivian public.
The Vice President urged all line ministries and relevant institutions to enquire into any causes of delay preventing this administration’s planned road safety measures being implemented. Further, he discussed measures to expeditiously resolve such obstacles and restated that this administration would provide all the assistance required to ensure Maldives’ roads remain safe and peaceful.
