President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited the Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital at South Huvadhu Atoll Thinadhoo today.
During the visit this morning, the President met with employees and high ranking officials of the hospital discussed their concerns and suggestions regarding difficulties faced during operations such as scarcity of medical supplies, facilities and professionals, and suggestions for future development.
The President noted that his administration closely monitors the operations and progress of hospitals in all sectors of the country, and several critical upgrades to improve the hospital's efficiency have already been identified. He reiterated that Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital is one of five hospitals, selected for extensive advancement program.
The President also met with several patients at the hospital and enquired to their health.
