His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, First Lady Fazna Ahmed and the accompanying delegation have arrived in Singapore, marking the beginning of his State Visit to the country. The President was received at the VIP Complex of Changi Airport by Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Defense, H.E, Maliki Osman.

Whilst in the country, the President will call on the President of Singapore, H.E Halimah Yacob, and the Prime Minister of Singapore, H.E Lee Hsien Loong, to shine a light on how to further strengthen and diversify bilateral ties between the two countries. President Solih will also meet members of the Maldivian community in Singapore to better grasp their particular concerns and experiences, and enquire as to how the Maldivian Government can be of assistance.

Prior to the conclusion of his visit, the President will be escorted to site visits to Pulau Semakau, an offshore landfill managed by Singapore’s National Environment Agency, to learn from Singapore’s experiences and expertise in waste management .
