Vice President Faisal Naseem has today visited Hoarafushi Island of North Thiladhunmathi Atoll.
Upon arrival, the Vice President inaugurated the high-speed ferry service on the island. Addressing the gathering, Vice President stated that the purpose of the President and the Vice President making such visits to the islands was to observe and identify what the people want and to work closely with the people in bringing the development needed to the islands. Moreover, he stated that the government gives high priority to establishing easy transportation system in the country.
During his visit, the Vice President toured the Hoarafushi airport development area and got an update on the work carried out in regards to the development of the airport.
During the visit, the Vice President will also meet with the members of Hoarafushi Island Council and senior officials of some of the institutions on the island.
