Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged Maldivians to aim at creating safer and harmonious roads for all the citizens in the Maldives. He made this remark while speaking at the ceremony held at Jetty no.1 this evening, to inaugurate the Road Safety Awareness Campaign.
During the event, the Vice President emphasized that the utmost priority of the government is to ensure the safety of the Maldivian people in each and every way possible and stated that the Road Safety Awareness Campaign launched today was especially essential since the number of road accidents occurring in the Maldives has recently increased.
Speaking at the event, the Vice President also called upon the people to be more mindful while using the roads and to give the opportunity for the walkers to cross the roads via zebra cross. Furthermore, he also urged the walkers to always be careful to use the pavement while walking even in the most constricted of roads.
