President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said, the lesson we should learn during the month of Ramadan is to acknowledge the importance of empathy and to strengthen relations within our families and our society. The President made these remarks in his special message on the occasion of the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The President underscored that it is a true blessing to witness the Holy month and extended greetings on the occasion to the people of Maldives.

President highlighted that with the month of Ramadan comes also the opportunity to engage in our beliefs and spirituality. In this regard, the President appeals all Maldivians to make the best of the use Holy Month.

Moreover, in his message, the President advised businesses not to raise the prices of daily food items during the Month of Ramadan. The President further stated that instead of raising the prices, business owners can seek spiritual rewards for being generous and compassionate especially on the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The President further stressed the importance of engaging in good deeds, prayers and recitation of the Quran during the Holy Month of Ramadan and appealed to the ‎Maldivian people to mirror proper social etiquette and civic duty in their ‎daily conduct, during this Holy Month.
