World Bank Director to the Maldives Dr. Idah Z. Pswarayi-Riddihough met with Vice President Faisal Naseem this morning at the President’s Office.
Dr. Pswarayi – Riddihough and the Vice President discussed some of the developmental issues and challenges facing the Maldives and deliberated on a way forward.
Dr. Pswarayi-Riddihough expressed that it was an honour to be able to meet with the Vice President and thanked him for affording her this opportunity. She referred to the constructive partnership between the Maldives and the World Bank and expressed on the organization’s behalf, a commitment to helping the present government on a number of areas, including renewable energy, waste management and public finance management.
The Vice President expressed his gratitude for all that the World Bank has done for the Maldives’ progress and development over the years and thanked the Director for her excellent suggestions regarding further development cooperation.
