The President has said that only a government could provide real public services. The President made this statement while speaking to the people of Dhiggaru of Mulaku atoll. The President arrived at Dhiggaru this afternoon.
Speaking with the people of the island, the President noted that the issue of beach erosion was a great concern for the people of Dhiggaru and that the government would, in the following two months, take measures needed to be taken to address the problem.
Referring to the developmental plans for Dhiggaru, the President said the government would work to introduce grades 11 and 12 in Dhiggaru. In addition, he said the government also planned to provide an island for the people of Dhiggaru to do agricultural activates.
President Nasheed reiterated that his government would deliver its electoral pledges.
