President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has arrived in Madifushi Island this morning, as part of his current visit to some islands of Kolhumadulu Atoll.
 
Upon arrival, the President was warmly welcomed by the island's community.
 
As part of his visit, the President is scheduled to take part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the reclamation and shore protection project in Madifushi Island, and initiate the island’s sewerage service system.

Prior to visiting Madifushi Island, President Yameen initiated the services of sewerage system in Dhiyamigili Island this morning.

President Yameen began his three-day visit to some islands of Kolhumadulu Atoll yesterday. On day-one, the President inaugurated clean water services in Thimarafushi Island. The President then took part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the beach protection project in Veymandoo Island. He also took part in the ceremony held to mark the completion of beach protection project in Kandoodhoo Island. The President also visited Buruni Island and Vilufushi Island yesterday; initiated the sewerage service system in Buruni and took part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the road development project in Vilufushi.
