President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the habour, of Faresmaathodaa and the airport land reclamation project; and attended the ceremony to mark the completion of the island’s beach protection project. 

During the ceremony, the President unveiled the monuments placed to celebrate the occasions. 

The Faresmaathodaa Island’s harbour is 900 feet long and 300 feet wide. 

Prior to his arrival to Faresmaathoda, President Yameen visited Madaveli Island and inaugurated the island’s harbour and attended the ceremony to mark the completion of the beach protection project.

During his current three-day visit to some islands of North and South Huvadhu Atoll, the President is scheduled to take part in the ceremony to mark the completion of beach protection project and inaugurate the harbour in Gaddhoo Island. Moreover, President Yameen will initiate the services of the sewerage system and inaugurate the housing project in Gaddhoo Island.  

President Yameen is scheduled to visit North Huvadhu Atoll islands tomorrow, and inaugurate the harbour in Kondey Island, initiate the services of the sewerage system and inaugurate clean drinking water services in Kolamaafushi Island, mark the completion of road development project and inaugurate the housing project in Villingili Island. The President will also inaugurate the Fishermen’s Marina in Kooddoo Island.
