President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has arrived in Kanditheemu Island this afternoon, as part of his current visit to some Islands of North Miladhummadulu Atoll.
Upon arrival, the President was warmly welcomed by the island's community.
As part of his visit, the President will inaugurate the harbour of the Island.
Prior to his visit to Kanditheemu, President Yameen visited Bileffahi Island, where he took part in the ceremony held to mark the completion of the island’s beach protection project. The President will next visit Funadhoo Island and take part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the airport land reclamation project and commencement of runway project. He is scheduled to visit Milandhoo Island tomorrow and inaugurate the island’s sewerage system.
