President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has attended the award giving ceremony of “Al-Nour Al Mubin” International Quran Competition, the first ever international Quran competition held in the Maldives. The ceremony was held at the Islamic Center this evening.
At the ceremony, President Yameen presented the award and certificate to Abdulla Mohamed Kathim Mohamed Kathim Al-Khayyat from Kuwait who achieved the first place in this competition.
“Al-Nour Al Mubin” Quran Competition; a collaboration done by Centre for the Holy Quran, Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Public Service Media, was held under the patronage of President Yameen.
Along with Maldives, Sudan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Kuwait, Egypt and Bangladesh participated in this competition. Judges at the competition were from five different countries; Sudan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Yamen and Maldives.
