Vice President Abdulla Jihad has today met with the officials, judges and participants of “Al-Nour Al Mubin” International Quran Competition, the first ever international Quran competition to be held in the Maldives. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, the Vice President welcomed the officials, judges and participants of the International Quran Competition to the Maldives. He stated that the key purpose of hosting such a competition in Maldives is to increase fondness in the hearts of people to recite Quran according to the rules of Thajweed and to encourage more people to memorize Quran by heart.
“Al-Nour Al Mubin” Quran Competition, to be held under the patronage of President Yameen, is a collaboration done by Centre for the Holy Quran, Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Public Service Media. Along with Maldives, Sudan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Kuwait, Egypt and Bangladesh will participate in this competition.
Judges at the competition are from five different countries; Sudan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Yamen and Maldives.
