At today’s Cabinet meeting, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has briefed the members of the Cabinet, on the current situation in the Maldives.
At today’s meeting, the President stated that the decisions made by the administration during events that unfolded in the past week was deliberated after extensive consideration and legal advice, and in accordance to the rules, regulations and the Constitution of the Maldives.
Speaking today, the President underscored that despite the state of emergency in the Maldives since 5 February 2018, there has been no change to the general movement or day to day livelihood of Maldivians.
Moreover, the President expressed gratitude to the Cabinet members for their support and assistance during this critical time.
