President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that achieving our dreams and making our lives better was entirely up to us, and that no one will come from afar to do it for us. He made this remark while addressing the community of Hen’badhoo Island, South Miladhummadulu Atoll.

Speaking to the people of Hen’badhoo, the President underscored the importance of being a self-sufficient people in today’s world.

In his speech, the President highlighted the need to create a friendly environment, in order to work towards our goals. He noted that this could be achieved by adhering to the country’s rule of law, promoting peace, and prioritising the citizens’ needs.

The President reiterated that he welcomed all suggestions and recommendations towards the betterment of the people. He further stated the need for a youth generation who had the experience and capability of making constructive and logical decisions in taking this country forward. He also underscored that our future was in our own hands.

President Yameen is currently on a 3 day visit to some islands of South Miladhummadulu, Faadhippolhu, and South Maalhosmadulu Atolls.
