President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has inaugurated the harbour of Maalhendhoo Island of South Miladhummadulu Atoll.
At a ceremony held this morning at the harbour area of Maalhendhoo Island, the President unveiled the harbour memorial in order to inaugurate the harbour. The harbour inaugurated today in Maalhendhoo Island is 800 feet long and 250 feet wide.
The President is currently on a three day visit to South Miladhunmadulu Atoll, Fadhihpolhu Atoll and South Maalhosmadulu Atoll.
During his visit the President will take part in ceremonies held to mark the completion of government projects, and inaugurate key projects in the islands as well.
