President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom expressed profound gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional work undertaken by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) in making Rasrani Bageecha a reality.
During the meeting held at The President’s Office this afternoon President Yameen expressed his sincere thanks to MNDF and SIVEC. He stated that the public would wholeheartedly appreciate MNDF’s contribution towards nation building, over and above the official mandate.
Rasrani Bageecha consists of several features including an ‘Usgekolhu’ showcasing in-depth digital repository on Maldivian history. The park also incorporates 3 giant play structures enabling variety of intellectually stimulating entertainment activities for children; all within a comfortable and relaxing environment for adults.
Additional features include, a glass walled classroom built incorporating state of the art technology, a 180 degrees Art Deck for children of all ages to explore their artistic expression, an Amphitheatre seating 200 at a time and a ‘Koraage’ aimed at reviving the cultural, and historical, children's sport.
Rasrani Bageechaa also showcases a water fountain and a ‘Mariyaadhuge’ designed for senior citizens with ‘joali’, traditional hammocks, and ‘holhuashi’, or benches, for sitting.
The Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr Mohamed Muizzu and Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam attended the meeting along with officials who participated in the construction of Rasrani Bageecha.
