President Yameen sends condolences on Major Athif’s passing

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent his condolences to the family of the late Major Ahmed Athif.

The President noted that Major Athif’s passing was a great loss to the Maldives National Defense Force and to Maldivian music.

At the time of his passing Major Athif was serving as Deputy Commander of the Northern Region at the Maldives National Defense Force.

In 2014, Major Athif was conferred the National Award of Recognition for his outstanding contributions in the area of the Performing Arts.
