President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended this year's Eid ul-Fitr holidays.
In the event Eid ul-Fitr is determined to fall on Sunday 25th June, Wednesday 28th June, and Thursday 29th June will be declared public holidays.
However, if Eid ul-Fitr falls on Monday 26th June, then Thursday 29th June will be declared a public holiday.
The two consecutive days following the day of Eid ul-Fitr are predetermined holidays on the occasion of the celebration.
Government offices will reopen after the holidays on Sunday, 2nd July.
