The Non-resident Ambassador of Indonesia, H. E. Harimawan Suyitno, paid a farewell call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning at the President’s Office.

During the call, the President thanked Ambassador Suyitno for the contributions made on his part to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Indonesia, and noted that the Government of Maldives holds in high regard further fortification of existing relations. The President expressed interest in inviting the Indonesian corporate sector to the Maldives. He also conveyed best wishes for the Ambassador’s next assignment.

The Ambassador highlighted on the mutual benefits accrued from establishing an Honorary Consul Office in the Maldives and expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and support extended from the Government of Maldives during his tenure as Ambassador.

The President was accompanied at the call by the Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office, H.E. Mohamed Naseer.
